I hope you had a chance to look at the lesson two. It is very important aspect of making your online store or stores successful. So why are keywords so important for your eBay affiliate business? Because that is how people are going to find you. Often, people over look this part and they wonder why their store was no where to be found. You see, the high competition keywords are hard to compete with. Depending on the search volume if the keyword is searched for 30-50 times, I would look for the competition that is below 5000 in “” So if my keyword is eBay affiliate, and it only gets searched for 30-50 times, I would type it in Google search box with “”. If a keyword I am going after has 75-200 searches, I would push my competition to around 40,000. And so forth. The reason why we are inputing the keyword in quotation marks is because it brings you results only with pages that have those keywords in title or optimized text. It has nothing to do with how people are going to search for it. One of the free tools I like is the Keyword discovery. It is part of seobook.com. When you find your keywords, than look for the long tail keywords meaning more than 3 words less than 7. You see, with your keywords and your hard work, you won’t people to find you that are at the last leg of purchasing cycle. Person looking for the information is not yet ready to buy, person looking for the specific product is ready to buy.

For example: car is not a specific keyword, but red sports car is a specific keyword or treadmill is a generic keyword, but treadmill pro-form crosswalk is a specific keyword phrase.

Now I hope understand why I am stressing the importance of the keywords for your eBay affiliate stores, because they are important!

I know, you are probably wondering, how will you compete with other people for those keywords, and I will explain that to you later on. We are not there yet

Now that I told you how much money you have to spend which can be none or some here is the main question.  How much money can you really earn with build a niche store?  I have to say unlimited but some people only make very little.  Let me explain.

The commission eBay pays is per final value fee.  So if the item is priced low you will only make few cents per item.  However, if they buy multiple items your commission can go up.  My highest so far was $42 for one item.  This is a commission based business. Basically you have a special tracking cookie, that stays active for 7 days after someone clicks through your link.  So you may make multiple sales over the 7 days as long as they buy something.

Side note: for every new user sign up, they will pay you $25.

Now the goal is to find profitable niche and once you have that you need to drive traffic to your site. Out of 100 visitors you will most likely make 2-4 sales.  So you need to make sure you have a lot of targeted visitors and I will explain how I do this.
There are people who are making $10,000 + a month with this, but of course it takes a while to get there.  As I mentioned in the previous post, you don’t have to buy a build a niche store software, because you can use Squidoo, but for the amount of work you are going to put into this, you probably do want to keep the 100% of profits.

So why do some people make very little money with affiliate niche store? Here is why.  I have seen people that have 50 sites up.  The problem with those 50 is that they are hard to promote if you are doing it the free way as I am.  It takes time to promote all those sites if they are not in the same niche.  So that is why some make very little.

Overall, if you are willing to work at this, and if you follow everything I outlined for you, you will make money with affiliate niche stores and the free guide to create a successful niche store, Once you have it all set up, you can expand your business on other things if you wish to do so!

2. Second is that I am in this to make a real business out of it. While it is o.k. to start with Squidoo if you don’t have money to invest, you can make some money and than invest into the software. You can still use your squidoo as a link back to your main site.
3. I like to be in control of my business as much as possible.

So now you know that you do not have to buy build a niche store software, but it is recommended for a long term eBay profits.

O.K. so let me get started. As an eBay affiliate you have to know how to find your niche market. And this is by no means easy and I have made a mistake on this too. So let me explain. The niche market is a smaller market of a big market. So for example. The big market is baby items, but the smaller or niche market is baby stroller or baby monitor. Also, sporting goods are the big market, while parent sporting equipment is a smaller market. So the niche is a more specific more defined market. Almost all successful affiliates are niche marketers. I personally when I started this business was all over the place. I was trying to promote everything that came to mind. If I saw a lot of keywords in one market, I was all excited and ran to build a website about it. What happens is that it is very hard to market all of the products.

I do not spend money on my traffic, or should I say very little of it. All of my traffic is free traffic and I learned that at Wealthy Affiliate University, which is a great place to get your business started, but here I will show you the basics. To really succeed in this business you need to keep yourself educated at all times.

O.k. back to niche market. You really need to understand this to make it successful. So pick one major market you know something about, and you need to narrow it down. Maybe you know a lot about new phones, or computers, or sporting events. Maybe you camp a lot, so that would be a larger market you select and you need to dig deeper to establish yourself.
